Brian Thiellen, Junior Information Assurance Consultant, has become an Amazon Web Services “AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.”
AWS Solutions Architects must have a strong understanding of networking and proprietary AWS resources. This certification shows the holder is knowledgeable about the many resources provided by AWS and can offer expertise in drafting and implementing a network that meets the confidentiality, integrity, and availability requirements of modern organizations.
Many private companies and public organizations host their operations on AWS because of the security and highly available environment provided by Amazon. AWS is the perfect match for FedRAMP and other highly sensitive information classifications, including HIPAA, PCI, and FISMA low and moderate implementations.
Among the Amazon Web Services certification requirement, becoming an AWS Certified Solutions Architect means that Brian will be able to:
- Design and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS
- Lift and shift an existing on-premises application to AWS
- Manage the ingress and egress of data to and from AWS
- Select the appropriate AWS service based on data, compute, database, or security requirements
- Identify appropriate use of AWS architectural best practices
- Estimate AWS costs and identify cost control mechanisms
In order to be considered for AWS Certification, the candidate must have:
- One or more years of hands-on experience designing available, cost efficient, fault tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on AWS
- In-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language
- The ability to identify and define requirements for an AWS-based application
- Experience with deploying hybrid systems with on-premises and AWS components
- The capability to provide best practices for building secure and reliable applications on the AWS platform
Baan Alsinawi, TalaTek President, said, “We are proud of Brian’s achievement, and pleased that we can augment our current technical expertise with formal Amazon Web certifications as part of our suite of client solutions.”
