On October 16th and 17th, 2014 TalaTek attended the 12th annual Qualys Security Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The conference connected customers with Qualys engineers and leading industry experts. In addition, Qualys architects unveiled many new groundbreaking technologies which they are building into their Unified Cloud Security and Compliance Platform.

On October 21, 2014, ISACA held an all-day conference on Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) in Arlington, VA. The conference was created to provide CIOs, risk-management groups, system administrators, and security and audit professionals the opportunity to explore and discuss new trends, perspectives, solutions and leading practices.

TalaTek adds another Certified Ethical Hacker to its team.
On August 23rd, Johann Dettweiler earned the “Certified Ethical Hacker” certification, offered by EC-Council. The certification is awarded to Information Security professionals who complete training in learning how to identify and defend against the latest cyber-criminal hacking threats.

TalaTek Announces Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) Internship Program
TalaTek is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) Internship Program, and is proud to welcome Brian Thiellen as the inaugural member of the TalaTek ISCM Internship Program.
The Internship Program provides entry-level information security personnel with a unique opportunity to gain valuable Information Assurance (IA) professional experience. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate upcoming IA professionals based on the TalaTek methodology.
Madeline Weeks adds “Federal Information Technology Security Professional: Auditor (FITSP-A)” certification.
On April 11, 2014, Madeline Weeks, TalaTek’s Junior Information Assurance Consultant, passed the “Federal Information Technology Security Professional: Auditor (FITSP-A)” certification exam from the Federal Information Technology Security Institute (FITSI). The FITSP certifying exam is a role-based exam ranging from Auditor, Operator, Designer and Manager. It is consistent with NIST SP 800-16, Information Technology Security Training Requirements: A Role- and Performance-Based Model.
TalaTek adds Licensed Penetration Tester Certification
On January 15, 2014, TalaTek’s Senior Information Assurance Consultant, Joshua Grove, was awarded the credential of Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT) from EC-Council. EC-Council’s LPT program provides those seeking the accreditation the opportunity to practice their skills so that they are fully able to function as a licensed penetration tester.

The 2014 Cybersecurity Innovation Forum & Expo took place at the Baltimore Convention Center, January 28-30, 2014. The three-day event was sponsored by the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) along with the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the National Security Agency. The forum included numerous speakers discussing the existing threat landscape and presentations on current and emerging practices, technologies and standards.
